Austin is northeast of Wimberley, and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) is the named commercial airport for this approach. Check live traffic before choosing the route.
The square is compact, but Blue Hole, Jacob's Well, Old Baldy, and many lodging properties are not one walkable district. Arrange a car before arrival rather than expecting town transit.
San Antonio approaches Wimberley from the south. It can suit a broader Hill Country trip, but compare live traffic and the final roads to your lodging before departure.
The final approach leaves the interstate network for narrower roads with curves, creek crossings, local traffic, and wildlife. Avoid rushing the last miles after dark.
Blue Hole has its own reservation and arrival rules; the square has different parking pressure; lodging properties may sit well outside town. Navigate to the actual first stop, not simply to “Wimberley.”
