Blue Hole swimming and Jacob's Well hiking are different trips
Reserve Blue Hole for swimming during its open season. Hays County's latest alert says Jacob's Well is open for hiking only, with no swimming allowed. The square, Old Baldy, and a Hill Country stay round out the weekend.
Blue Hole swimming requires a reservation. Jacob's Well swimming is currently closed, though the Natural Area remains open for hiking.
Reserve a 9 a.m.–1 p.m. or 2–6 p.m. Blue Hole session during swim season, then check the city's current status and water-quality pages before leaving.
Galleries, small shops, coffee, and restaurants cluster around the square, close enough to browse on foot after checking in or before dinner.
Stay overnight if you want a Blue Hole session, dinner, the square, and an Old Baldy climb without compressing them into one hot afternoon.
